un luogo più adatto per pensare alla Luna. Ma Pantelleria
è più bella. Le pianure interminabili di roccia vulcanica,
il mare immobile, la casa dipinta di calce fino agli scalini dalle
cui finestre si vedono nelle notti senza vento i fasci luminosi
dei fari africani...Fondali addormentati...Un anfora con ghirlande
pietrificate e i resti di un vino corroso dagli anni...il bagno
in una conca fumante dalle acque così dense che è
quasi possibile camminarvi sopra.../...I don’t
think there is a place in the world more ideal than Pantelleria
to think of the moon. And Pantelleria is much more beautiful. The
endless plains of volcanic rock, the calm sea, the houses with its
windows where you can see in the windless nights the lights of the
African lighthouses..bottom of the seas asleep..an ancient amphor
with stoned garlands and the remains of some wine corroded over
the years..baths in a smokey conch in waters so thick you can walk
on them..." / "... Ich glaube nicht, dass es auf der Welt
einen besser geeigneten Ort gibt, um an den Mond zu denken. Aber
Pantelleria ist noch viel schöner. Die endlosen Ebenen vulkanischen
Gesteins, das unbewegte Meer, die bis zu den aufs Dach führenden
Stufen gekalkten Häuser, mit ihren Fenstern, durch die man
in windlosen Nächten die Lichtstreifen afrikanischer Leuchttürme
sieht.. Schlafende Meeresgründe.. Eine Amphore mit versteinerten
Girlanden und Resten von Wein, abgestanden und durch die Jahre ungeniessbar
geworden.. Ein Bad, in einem dampfenden Becken, mit Wassern so dickflussig,
fast könnte man darüber hinschreiten“…No creo
que exista en el mundo un lugar más adapto para pensar en
la Luna. Pero Pantelleria es más hermosa. Las planicies interminables
de roca volcánica, el mar inmóvil, las casas pintadas
de cal hasta las escalinatas desde donde sus ventanas se ve , en
las noches sin viento, las franjas luminosas de los faros africanos…..
fondos marinos que adormecen….. anforas con giurlandas petrificadas
y restos de vino con la corrosión de los años…el
baño en cuencas humeantes de aguas tan densas que se puede
hasta caminar sobre ellas…”
